Markets, volatility, and investor behavior. Observed with perspective.

Zen Volatility examines market conditions, volatility and how investors perceive and respond to uncertainty. The Zen Volatility Index is a weekly 0–100 reading of the market environment, published every Sunday.

What is the ZVI?

The Zen Volatility Index is a weekly 0–100 view of the market environment. Lower readings correspond to calmer conditions; higher readings to more turbulent ones. The scale moves through three environments: Calm, Stirring and Turbulent.

Understand the ZVI →

What it is not

ZVI does not predict market direction, recommend securities or identify buy and sell points. It provides context about market conditions—not instructions about what to do with them.

How to read the ZVI →

Why Sunday?

Markets operate continuously. The ZVI is deliberately weekly: often enough to observe meaningful change without turning observation into constant reaction.

Why the weekly rhythm matters →

Market movement is unavoidable. The impulse to react is part of investing. Zen Volatility is built around a simple discipline: observe conditions clearly, notice reaction as it arises, separate information from impulse and leave room for deliberate response.

The reading is public. The interpretation is for subscribers.

Every Sunday, the current ZVI is available to everyone. Subscribers receive the interpretation behind the reading: what changed, the context shaping it and what deserves attention.

The point is not to remove uncertainty, but to see clearly enough to respond without reflex.

How to Survive the Next Market Crash
With Your Mind and Money Intact

Drawing on mentor-student dialogue, Zen teaching stories and practical market context, Zen Volatility explores what market pressure reveals about preparation, perception, fear, impulse and decision-making.

Its concern is not how to eliminate uncertainty, but how to remain perceptive and deliberate when uncertainty becomes difficult to ignore.
